By creating a bespoke unit dedicated to the growing, procurement, ripening and marketing of exotics, our clear intent is to bring to bear the collective reach, resources and expertise typically associated with DOLE® Bananas and Pineapples to deliver a real point of difference to exotic fruits on the retail shelves of Europe and beyond.

Complementing group production with third party sourcing, Dole Exotics brings to these product lines the security associated with its vertically integrated supply chain, a streamlined route to market and the in-house capacity to assure best agronomic and sustainable practices from farm to fork. We believe we are uniquely positioned to do so given the quality of our existing production and our commitment to invest in more, the experience of our global specialists in exotic fruits, the technical expertise they bring and our infrastructure- across the most fertile global growing regions but also on-the ground in key markets.

It is widely acknowledged that in Europe, consumption of Avocados in considerable less than that in, for example the United States. In Dole, we believe this points to untapped potential for the category and an opportunity to market Avocados in a better way. As always with Dole, our foundation lies in the assurance of ‘Quality, Quality, Quality.’ But we offer so much more. On-going investment in our vertically integrated supply reflects our intent on becoming Europe’s #1 Avocado supplier. In-store, with our DOLE BE Exotic brand acting as a focal point, we are committed to delivering a portfolio approach to category management to maximise returns for customers, prioritizing the on-shelf impact of packaging to increases sales, leveraging the strength and recognition associated with our own icon brand to drive sales and build trust, adopting a contemporary approach to promotions and putting in place innovative in-store activities and digital supports.

DOLE Mangoes

In Dole, we’re mad for Mangoes! It’s a product line that we believe is destined for the mainstream and we’re committed to playing our part in making that happen. Combining our own production with that of trusted third parties we source Mangoes from Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. In the marketplace, we believe affording consumer the opportunity to sample fresh, ripe, succulent Mango is critical to driving consumption. To that end, we offer innovative promotional support in-store and across digital platforms with DOLE branded and DOLE BE Exotic! branded Mangoes as we strive to bring Mango sales across Europe to the next level.

Papaya

Papaya is another line destined for greatness! Somewhat misunderstood in many European markets, we have identified consumer education as an important driver of sales. Empowering consumers to choose Papaya and educating them about the practicalities of preparing and using it is critical. In Dole we work with retailers to coordinate online initiatives with in-store demonstrations; challenging consumers misconceptions and helping them to find the fun in the fruit. Our DOLE BE Exotic! labelling also links to recipes, nutritional advice and preparation tips via a handy QR code. Sourcing of Papaya is predominantly from trusted third party suppliers. As always with Dole, irrespective of the source, our priority, always, is ‘Quality, Quality, Quality’!
